Story Behind The Song
I wanted to write a song for this album representing what home means to me. I had the best childhood. My mom would record me on cassette tapes starting at 19 months. We digitally recorded these cassettes and dropped some of the memorable audio from my childhood on the track. This song means a lot to me and reminds me of home.

Lyrics
An 8-room house on the city limits
Corn fields as far as I can see
To get anywhere took 20 minutes
That was home to me
Now I'm a city girl with a country soul
I still have some twang in my rock and roll
I like the finer things but I work for them
A day with family is a day well spent
No matter how far you take me
A country girl I'll always be
Barefoot gravel roads
In the middle of the July heat
A friendly wave from my dad's steering wheel
Sounds like home to me
Now I'm a city girl with a country soul
I still have some twang in my rock and roll
I like the finer things but I work for them
A day with family is a day well spent
Those country roads in the summer night
Breaking curfew in the morning
Mom's casserole served with a smile
Watching sunsets on that old dirt pile
No matter how far you take me
A country girl I'll always be
